Key role: To share with the Minister the spiritual oversight of the church’s life and seek vision. |
| The authority of Elders exists only insofar as the Church Meeting has entrusted them to act on its behalf. |
| Collectively to support and provide pastoral care for all ministry team leaders by receiving reports from teams and taking any action required.Collectively to support and provide pastoral care for all ministry team leaders by receiving reports from teams and taking any action required. |
| Collectively to support and provide pastoral care for all ministry team leaders by receiving reports from teams and taking any action required. |
| Encourage their teams’ members (though not having direct responsibility for their pastoral care). |
| Attend their teams’ meetings from time to time, and at least once per year. |
| Work alongside their teams’ leaders in development of their teams’ aims, objectives and budgets. |
| Act as line manager of their teams’ leaders, and point of appeal to those whose line manager is the team leader. |
| Meet regularly with the minister to oversee the life of the church. |
| Together with the minister to act as an executive if decisions need to be made and it would be impracticable to do so at the church meeting. |
