November 2010 Minister's Message

Dear Friends,
It is good that month by month there are so many exciting things that have happened and so many good things to look forward to. I feel led, as I write, to say a big thank you to all those who work so hard at Cornerstone to reach out with the love of Jesus by word or deed. I stress this particularly as we hope to complete the fundraising for our building over the next 12- 18th months – praise God!At our recent Elders meeting we were sharing and praying through our hopes for the next phase of our mission together. Early in 2011 we are hoping to reflect upon where we have come thus far and possible plans for the future. We hope that everyone will contribute to these discussions and feel that they have a voice as together we continue to seek the Lords guidance.
A few thoughts hit me:
1. We need to be constant in prayer, not just for our activities but that God will work mightily in our community bringing renewal and revival – will you pray every day for this?
2. We need to cherish and encourage the people around us to see God at work in them. Will you do this every day?
3. We need to re-affirm the place of the Holy Spirit in our lives and our work together. It is not our plans, programs andactivities that convict and bring change – it is God by His Holy Spirit - “When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8)
We need to be aware that there is a spiritual battle and an enemy who would love to see us thwarted. As we dream dreams of hope and ‘reach for the stars’ we need to remember that we may fail at times but that the victory is secure in Christ.
I hope you will be encouraged to continue in your love and service to the Lord,
“The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it”. 1 Thessalonians 5:24
With best wishes to you this month.
Yours in Christ
Eddie
