May 2011 Minister's Message

Dear Friends,

May looks like being another exciting month in the life of Cornerstone. April will end with the Royal wedding weekend and our foyer should provide a lovely setting for people to come and share together on this occasion. It continues to amaze me how many people regularly see this space as a good place to sit and share and thank you to all those who continue week by week to provide the necessary welcome and hospitality.

We will also be focusing on Christian Aid and the needs around the world and we will also be hoping to link up with Pastor Samson by phone one Sunday morning to hear more about the church building work in Uganda that we are supporting. We will also soon be given the opportunity to consider our response to the outreach fund which will be starting at the end of the year to support mission work around the world and also resource our work locally. I hope that you will all be able to prayerfully pledge something towards this exciting work in thankfulness for Gods provision here.

We are also in discussions with quite a number of people about coming into full membership here at Cornerstone and hopefully many of these will be received soon - maybe you would also like to consider this if you have not done so already.

I would also like to encourage you in your everyday life - how are you getting on with reading the Bible and with prayer? What are things like in your home and work life and how are you spending time with people in friendship?

The Bible says "Each of us should please his neighbour for his good, to build him up." (Romans 15:2). This is a reminder that we can bring God's goodness into the lives of those around us and sometimes we need to make sure that people don't think that we are always expecting something in return.

I pray that whatever is happening in your life right now that you know the wholeness and peace that God has given you in Christ.

With best wishes to you this month
Yours in Christ
Eddie
