In a church the size of Hythe URC, it is sometimes difficult to get to know many people well on Sundays. However in a small group of 8-10 people it is possible to make friends much more easily.

In Homegroups we worship, study the Bible, pray for each other, have parties, barbecues, outings, food... and fun. We help each other grow as Christians, and care for each other.

Our church seeks to care for all those who are involved in any aspect of it’s life. It is our aim to ensure that everyone has a 'carer'. The carer’s role is to become a friend of those they care for, to offer a listening ear, and give encouragement to help that person grow in Christian maturity.

Membership is an opportunity to publicly declare your faith. To declare this church to be “your Church”, and to commit yourself to share in the church's work and in the decision making related to it.

The essential conditions for membership are baptism and confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour in accordance with the affirmation of faith laid down by the United Reformed Church.

Anyone wishing to become a church member is asked to make their decision known to the minister or to one of the elders.

Giving

Cornerstone, Hythe United Reformed Church PrintE-mail

By supporting in the work of this Church through its regular financial giving scheme you will be making some return to God for the many gifts which you have first received through Him.

The amount of your contribution is a very personal matter, and others may offer you guidance. We support the biblical principal of tithing (giving a tenth of your income) but it is up to you to decide upon the actual amount which you feel led to promise for God’s work through the church and other charities.

It is realised that your promise relates to your present circumstances. If these circumstances change at any time your promise may be revised.
